Your DGC Benefits Plan provides you and your family with valuable, affordable mental and physical health coverage and financial protection if you experience an illness, injury or disability. In this section, we explain how the plan works and what’s covered under each level.
Every year, our Trustees carefully review the plan’s coverage and costs to make sure it continues to provide valuable benefits that support your needs today, while keeping the plan strong and sustainable for the future.
For 2026, producer contributions and the costs to upgrade coverage are increasing – however, our plan’s benefits remain the same. For more about producer contributions and the costs to upgrade coverage, see Determining Coverage Levels.
Beginning January 1, 2026, if you have been receiving provincial workers’ safety and compensation plan benefits for more than three months due to an injury sustained while working under a DGC deal memo, your coverage will continue at the level of your default coverage at the date of your injury. Your coverage will continue for up to two enrolment cycles starting January 1 following the date of your disability leave.
